Fifth Annual Performance Assessment

& Student of the Year 2010

Monday to Saturday, April 19th-April 24th

External Assessors:

      Mary Wall, FTCL (Speech and Drama)  

          

               Official Accompanists: Aidan O’ Carroll, Aine Murray,

               Sue van Blerk, Declan Walsh.

                              

             Each participant receives:

      A parchment Certificate of Participation recording your result.

     Private comment/advice/resultsheet to be discussed with your

teacher and parents. Public acclamation and general

advice from the assessor at the end of each category.

  

      Students achieving Summa cum Laude (equivalent to at least 95%)

   will automatically receive a Kerry School of Music Bursary. This will

     take the form of a discount of €100 on fees payable in  2010-2011 for

lessons in the same subject at the School.

Bursary recipients will be invited to perform in the

K.S.M Student of the Year 2010 Semi Final in

     the Dr Joan Denise Moriarty  Ground Floor Studio, High Street on

     Saturday, April 24th at 7.30pm. At the end of the recital the Junior &

 Senior students selected  go forward to the  Brandon Hotel Sunday May 30th

as finalists in the Student of the Year 2010.

 

New award from 2010

An exceptionally generous benefactor who wishes to remain anonymous is for the first time

in 2010 offering a superb annual prize to the Guitar student achieving the highest Summa

cum Laude mark in the Assessments.The student, advised by his/herteacher,

will participate actively in the design of a customized guitar by renowned Luthier/Guitar maker,

Chris Larkin of Castlegregory, which the student will own in perpetuity.  It is hoped that other

High net worth individuals will follow the example of this generous benefactor and

donate other instruments in the future.

Maria O’ Connor (‘Cello), Ryan Mulvihill  (Piano),

Conor Cremin (Saxophone), Kieran Brosnan  (Clarinet),

Denis Horan (Voice) , Emer Jones ( Violin ) ,

Rachel Daly (Voice).
