From time to time and in certain circumstances Kerry School of Music offers scholarships to selected students.
To assist talented students experiencing economic disadvantage.
Parents or Guardians of talented students who are financially challenged may approach the Principal in confidence at any time. Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure that the student has or continues to have access to the full range of tuition opportunities offered by the School.
To provide training opportunities to intellectually or physically challenged students.
The School welcomes applications from/on behalf of persons who are physically or intellectually challenged. The School liaises with a wide range of support organisations to ensure that students have unconditional access and are admitted on a basis of parity with all other students.
· To encourage the study of certain ‘minority’ instruments.
A number of brass, woodwind and stringed instruments, bought and owned by the Kerry School of Music are hired to students every year at a nominal rent or, at the discretion of the Principal, on a rent-free basis. Instruments are hired on a first come, first served basis subject to compliance with certain terms and conditions. Further information is available from the School office.
· To ‘kick-start’ certain development projects.
The School liaises closely with local government and local and regional development organisations in planning and implement a range of development initiatives, designed to enhance understanding and participation the performing arts.
· To encourage excellence.
Students demonstrating a significant interest, commitment, flair or innate talent in a particular aspect of the performing or creative arts may from time to time request or be offered financial assistance or recognition by the School.
All incentives and recognitions are notified regularly through the print and broadcast media and applications are welcome at any time.
